Fixing Post page for Blogs

Published by Mohit Agrawal on

Sometimes you find out that you post page is not working for Blog. Either it is corrupted or some users have edited page and deleted some webparts from there. In my case I found out that user deleted post webpart from Post.aspx page. Now users are not able to view particular post.

In order to recover webpart I had tried multiple thing but none has give me required result. I am not able to export webpart from any other Post list. Also SharePoint designer is blocked so I cannot edit the page.

Later on I have created webpart file and add that webpart on Post.aspx page which resolved the issue.

Download the Post.txt below

Rename Post.txt to Post.webpart and change some property

  1. Change “TitleUrl” to Post list from where you want ta get data
  2. Change “ListId’ to your Post List ID
  3. Change “ListName” to Post list ID

Once you are done with above, upload webpart file to page and Add Post webpart. Voila ! your Post.aspx starts working again.
